Warren Consolidated Schools is seeking applicants for the following position for the 2025-2026 school year:High School Physical Education TeacherSterling Heights High School1.0 FTEQualifications:Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with either the MB (Physical Education) or the MC (Health & Physical Education) endorsement for the appropriate grade level required.Please reference theWEA Master Contractforadditional Collective Bargaining information.Essential FunctionsAdvises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teachers expectations developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.Assembles and maintains equipment (e.g. volleyball soccer badminton ) for the purpose of providing physical plans for instruction.Assesses student progress expectations goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and administration.Collaborates with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum.Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance health status problem solving techniques and a variety of non-school issues.Instructs students for the purpose of developing their physical skills andParticipates in various meetings for the purpose of receiving and/or providingParticipates with students in group activities for the purpose of developing students leadership teamwork responsibility and social skills.Prepares teaching materials and related reports (e.g. grades attendance anecdotal records ) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and documenting student progress.Reports incidents (e.g. fights suspected child abuse suspected substance abuse etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code administrative and/or school policies.Other FunctionsAssists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their workJob Requirements: Minimum QualificationsKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesKNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and understand written and oral instructions.
