Job DescriptionJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Equipment Operation:Operate highwall mining equipment to extract coal or minerals from the highwall.Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal operation.Ensure the safe and efficient movement of extracted materials from the highwall to designated storage or processing areas.Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.Production Monitoring:Track and record production data, including the amount of material extracted and the operational hours of equipment.Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet production targets.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and assist maintenance personnel with more complex repairs.Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.Participate in environmental monitoring and reporting as required.Team Collaboration:Work collaboratively with other operators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.Participate in team meetings and safety briefings to discuss operational issues and improvements.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.WV Surface Miner CertificationPrevious experience operating highwall mining equipment or similar machinery is preferred.Knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards.Ability to work in a physically demanding and hazardous environment.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.
