Histology Technician Histotechnologist (HTHTL) at Lighthouse Lab Services

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a growing dermatopathology laboratory near Buffalo NY to recruit an additional Full-Time Histotechnician. This 2-year-old lab is experiencing increased specimen volumeaveraging around 60 samples per dayand is seeking a third Histotech to support workload balance and maintain high-quality turnaround times.This is an excellent opportunity to join a small collaborative team where your work directly impacts daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary DutiesSame-day specimen receiving and grossing (skin specimens)Process embed cut and stain tissue samples following standard protocolsMaintain quality control standards in all phases of histology workSecondary DutiesGeneral laboratory maintenance and equipment upkeepAssist team members as needed to ensure smooth workfloScheduleFull-time MondayFriday 11 AM7 PMFridays are typically lighter and may allow for early departure though volume variesNo on-call weekends or holidays requiredRequired QualificationsNYS Clinical Laboratory License (HT or HTL) RequiredASCP HT or HTL certification AcceptedSkin grossing experience Strongly preferredUnderstanding of skin embedding practices; training available for strong candidatesCompensation & BenefitsHourly Rate: $30$35/hrBenefits Include:Health and Dental Insurance2 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)Sick time as neededPaid Holidays:Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Christmas New Years DayAbout Us:At Lighthouse Lab Services we offer solutions to help start grow and run clinical laboratories.
