Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Group Fitness InstructorLocation: Beaverton, OregonJob Type: Part-TimeDepartment: Healthy LivingReports to: Group Fitness LeadAbout the RoleThe Beaverton Hoop YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Group Fitness Instructor specialized in YOGA and or Cycle to join our Healthy Living team. In this role, you’ll lead dynamic group fitness classes that inspire, challenge, and support our members in reaching their wellness goals.You’ll be part of a community-driven organization that’s passionate about healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. If you love teaching, building relationships, and creating a welcoming fitness environment for all levels, we want to meet you!Requirements:What You’ll DoTeach engaging group fitness classes consistently and professionallyProvide safe and effective instruction with proper modificationsHelp foster an inclusive, welcoming space for participants of all levelsPrepare and maintain class music, structure, and equipmentArrive early to greet members and stay after class for cleanup and member supportPromote other YMCA programs and events when appropriateAttend required staff meetings and trainingsMaintain all necessary certifications and stay current with continuing educationFollow YMCA guidelines, values, and safety standardsPreferred Skills & ExperiencePassion for helping others achieve health and wellness goalsStrong communication and motivational skillsAbility to lead a class while demonstrating exercises and responding to participants’ needsExperience working with diverse populationsTeam player with a positive, flexible attitudeQualificationsNationally recognized group fitness certification (required)Certification in one or more formats preferred:Barre, Cycle, Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, Kickboxing, Dance Fitness, Active Aging, Tai ChiCPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)Must pass a YMCA background checkBasic proficiency with audio equipment, music systems, and mobile techAt least 2 years of experience teaching group fitness (preferred)Why Work at the Y?Be part of a mission-driven community organizationFlexible part-time hoursSupportive and inclusive work environmentOpportunities for ongoing education and professional development
