Our community focuses on promoting resident independence while providing support with activities of daily living in a warm homelike environment.Position Summary: Home Health Aid or HHA is a caregiver aiding residents under the supervision of the LPN and/or RN. Home Health Aids provide compassionate care that is respectful of each residents needs values and wishes.Job Specific CompetenciesPrincipal Responsibilities:Core Competencies:Supports the Trinity/SPHP Vision Mission Values in all encounters with residents and familiesAdheres to the SPHP Code of ConductDemonstrates accountability as an individual and team member in meeting basic resident and family needsClinical Competencies:Home Health Aids provide the following nursing services under the supervision and direction of an LPN or RN across the continuum of care at SPHP.Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing dressing grooming toileting and mobility in a respectful compassionate manner.Assist residents in taking medications as needed.Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.Monitor residents safety and well-being reporting any changes to the LPN. Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes of health status of residents.Build meaningful relationships with residents understanding their personal histories preferences and routines and anticipate needs of residents.Help with light housekeeping and meal service as needed to maintain a safe and clean-living space.Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.Promote a warm friendly and respectful environment.Education Requirements:Must possess patience empathy and a genuine desire to help othersHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in senior care health care or assisted living preferred but not Must be able to:Ability to follow care plan and safety protocolsWorking knowledge of computers including electronic health record checking email and preforming required in-servicing along with use of other required applicationsHave the physical visual and auditory ability adequate to perform resident careMaintain composure and positivity in a high stress environmentPromote physical cognitive and psychosocial well-being of each residentWork with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illnessPay Range:$18.40 - $22.50Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
