Make Bristol Health your choice.FUNCTION:The Hospital Billing Supervisor will be a hands-on working leader responsible for assisting the System Manager of Revenue Cycle with coordinating efforts within hospital billing and credentialing teams. Along with hospital responsibilities the supervisor will also assist with overseeing Home Care Hospice and EMS billing.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Coordinate insurance billing and follow up assignments for the team and provide guidance on account resolutionManage related work assignments for Hospital Hospice Home Care billing team membersEnsure billing and follow up personnel have adequate training and adhere to all Bristol Health policies and proceduresManage maintain and monitor work queues and assign staff as neededProvide cross-training and mentoring opportunities for staff developmentAssist the Manager with performance appraisals the hiring selection process and disciplinary plans according to guidelinesCommunicate with various revenue cycle team members and departmental staff to expedite the billing resolution process improve denial prevention efforts and increase billing accuracyAccepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goalsQualifications KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:Excellent understanding of insurance claim processing and third-party reimbursementKnowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to billing processes and proceduresKnowledge of healthcare related financial and/or accounting practicesSkill in effective oral written and interpersonal communicationAbility and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement organizational values and service excellenceDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively communicate effectively and manage relationshipsAbility to work independently and take initiativeREQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Associate or bachelors degree in finance or science or equivalent combination of education and experienceAt least two (2) years experience in Hospital Hospice and or Home Care billing including follow up denials resolution and reportingAdvanced knowledge of code data sets to include CPT HCPCS and ICD 10Previous supervisory experience or experience in leading teamsAn understanding of billing regulations and payer requirements including a thorough understanding of CMS and other payer documentation compliance reimbursement and coding requirementsExperience with managing vendor relationships idealDisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
