Clinical Hospital Pharmacist Acute Care (Cardiology & Med-Surg) 13-Week ContractOverviewA large reputable healthcare system in western North Carolina is seeking an experienced Clinical Hospital Pharmacist for a 13-week acute-care assignment. This role supports cardiology medical-surgical and general inpatient services within a fast-paced hospital environment. The position offers competitive weekly compensation and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-acuity patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to cardiology med-surg and general inpatient unitsReview and verify medication orders for accuracy safety and evidence-based appropriatenessMonitor pharmacotherapy plans and adjust medications based on clinical status and lab resultsParticipate in multidisciplinary rounds with physicians nurses and care teamsPerform medication reconciliation and support transitions-of-care initiativesPrepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital and regulatory standardsDocument clinical interventions and maintain accurate pharmacy recordsOffer medication education to patients and healthcare providersSupport antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical quality initiativesRespond to urgent medication-related inquiries and provide drug-information supportQualificationsActive unrestricted Pharmacist license (PharmD or BS Pharmacy)Recent acute-care or hospital pharmacy experience requiredExperience in cardiology med-surg or high-acuity inpatient units preferredStrong knowledge of clinical guidelines and hospital workflowsFamiliarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systemsExcellent communication teamwork and clinical decision-making skillsWork Environment & ScheduleThis is a 13-week inpatient hospital assignment located in western North Carolina. Full-time schedule; specific shift details provided during the interview.
