We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the roleThis permanent full time House Supervisor role in Bentleigh involves providing leadership and supervision to a team of Disability Development and Support Officers supporting 4 people with disability living in Supported Independent Living.The successful candidate will have strong leadership experience as well as experience across behaviour support manual handling and medical supports to be able to effectively deliver and supervise services to ensure the people being supported are able to live their best lives.Please see below roster. Roster Split is 76:00/76:00Key responsibilities:Lead and plan support for people with disabilities to participate in a range of life areas based on the goals of individual support plansAdvocate on behalf of clients and their families to support inclusion participation and respect for rightsAdminister medication treatments and therapies or seek appropriate medical assistance according to prescribed protocolsWork to develop and maintain team morale and effectiveness and provide day-to-day mentoring and best practice knowledgeWork to mentor and develop of staff through PDSManage 1st level performance managementBe professionally accountable for autonomous decisions that impact on clients and staff made within bounds of department policy and with management supportPrepare detailed reports data and notation within area of expertise or responsibility and identify areas of service improvementImplementing positive behaviour management strategiesImplementing and supporting staff to engage in meaningful active engagement with clients with complex behaviours.Ability to build positive staffing teams leading through transitions.Working with complex families to achieve positive outcomes.
