HQHVSN Surgeon Veterinarian at Humane Society of South Mississippi

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HQHVSN Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the expertise to perform high volume spay/neuter procedures on cats and dogs. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide relief wellness and urgent services when the chief veterinarian is out.

Duties

• Perform spay/neuter surgeries to shelter and public pets and all duties necessary to safely perform those surgeries, 28-35 per surgical day depending on the makeup of the schedule
• Other types of surgeries as needed and agreed upon (leg amputation, eye enucleation, etc).
• Relief/emergency veterinary services to shelter animals
• Relief/emergency veterinary services to clients in our Wellness Clinic
• Performing necropsies as needed

Skills

• Proficient in pet care and animal handling, ensuring the comfort and safety of all patients.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology to effectively communicate with team members and pet owners.
• Experience with aseptic technique to maintain sterile environments during surgical procedures.
• Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations and treatments.
• Familiarity with dog handling techniques for various breeds and temperaments.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
