The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.Job Summary The Senior Executive Assistant (SEA) is not a traditional administrative role but a strategic partner and trusted advisor who plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and priorities of the University. Reporting Directly to the Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs, the SEA provides high-level administrative, operational, and strategic support to both the University President and the Vice President of Strategy and University, ensuring the seamless execution of institutional goals, initiatives, and alignment across the university's top leadership.The SEA is vital force multiplier for the University's top leadership. By managing time, information, and operations with excellence, the SEA enables the President and Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs to focus on strategic leadership, institutional growth, and community engagement. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, detailed-oriented professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about contributing to the success of Albany State University.Responsibilities Time Guardian & GatekeeperStrategically manage the complex and intersecting calendars of the President and Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs.Prioritize and coordinate appointments, meetings, university events, and travel.Serve as the first point of contact for the Office of the President, ensuring efficient and professional interactions.Develop systems to triage and prioritize requests requiring executive attention.Information Hub & CommunicatorManage the flow of internal and external communications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timeliness.Draft, review, and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations for executive review.Prepare meeting agendas, compile briefing materials, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.Problem Solver & StrategistAnticipate challenges and proactively identify solutions to support executive decision-making.Align priorities between the President and Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs to ensure cohesive leadership.Independently manage critical issues and projects with minimal supervision.Provide strategic counsel based on a deep understanding of institutional goals and operations.Office ManagerOversee the daily operations of the Office of the President and Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.Manage budgets and financial processes under the purview of the President and Vice President of Strategy and University Affairs.Supervise administrative support personnel.Coordinate logistics for high-level meetings, events, and special initiatives.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior-level executives, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex organization.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a university or public sector setting.Familiarity with executive-level governance, strategic planning, and institutional advancement.Proposed Salary Salary is commensurate with education and experience.Required Documents to Attach Cover letter.Resume.Unofficial transcripts.List of three professional references.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Unshakeable Judgment: Exercises discretion and maintains the highest level of confidentiality.Expert People Skills: Builds strong relationships with various stakeholders and navigates sensitive situations with diplomacy.Master-Level Organization: Manages multiple projects with precision, meeting all deadlines.Powerful Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally across all mediums.Strategic Influence: Navigates complex environments and builds consensus to drive initiatives forward.Contact Information For more information or questions about a job posting, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (229) 500-2026, or by email at [email protected].
