HR Generalist at BREEN & SULLIVAN MECHANICAL SERVICES INC
JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR Generalist partners closely with the HR Director to support business objectives, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and create a positive employee experience across the organization. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, employee support, and assisting with leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and safety-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing, job postings, career fairs, and trade school outreach.
- Coordinate candidate selection process, background checks, and offer letters.
- Lead onboarding activities and conduct new hire orientation.
- Maintain a strong candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
Employee Support & HR Operations
- Serve as a resource to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and HRIS questions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and process employment-related paperwork in Paylocity HRIS.
- Support benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and employee benefit inquiries.
- Participate in HR projects and process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee engagement.
Compliance, Safety & Leave Administration
- Provide administrative support related to FMLA, workers’ compensation, accident reporting, and insurance claims.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and HR procedures.
- Support safety initiatives and documentation as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel required
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and HRIS systems required.
- Knowledge of employment laws, FMLA, workers’ compensation, and HR best practices preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Highly responsive with high level of urgency. Proactive personality.
- Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS platform and Canva preferred.
Eligibility Requirements
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
- Employment/education will be verified.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

- Be able and willing to drive between locations in MA.
