As the Human Resources Operations Sr. Specialist, you'll be responsible for leading and planning small and reoccurring projects within the HR Operations and Planning team. You will support complex and large-scale initiatives while working cross-functionally to deliver consistent employee experience. This role requires subject matter expertise in the business teams being supported, cross-functional collaboration with Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) and business team partners, the ability to identify risks and considerations and then influence HRBPs and other leaders in their decision making.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. What you'll do
- Lead cross-functionally to build HR implementation plans for organizational changes and reoccurring business processes within your assigned area. (i.e. talent selection, notification plan, after care support, talent redeployment, coordination of people movement across systems)
- Ensure timely and complete delivery of business objectives, through assigned projects, while maintaining time, scope, quality, and budget.
- Leverage own knowledge as well as expertise of cross-functional HR COE's to leverage broad perspectives in driving solutions and/or business requirements.
- Support HR business partners, finance and cross-functional partners by providing human resources advice and counsel.
- Conduct data analysis and then summarize the information to inform decision making.
- Support HR Planning by assisting with HR communication rhythms and planning meetings as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HR Leadership, team members, sponsors, leads and subject matter experts to assist in completing work.
- Knowledgeable about the HRBP and HR COE model and its intended benefits and work to create an experience that helps to improve processes across Human Resources function.
- Responsible for managing and monitoring incoming emails and route inquiries to appropriate HR team members.
Basic qualifications
- 2 years of functional HR experience
- 2 years of experience working with multiple priorities and managing detailed outcomes
- 2 years of experience with HR systems (Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, UKG, Bamboo HR, etc)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to identify risks, trends and opportunities for improved efficiency and/or quality
- Ability to influence without authority
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations
Preferred qualifications
- 1 year of project management or coordination experience
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
