Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Cook is responsible for all food preparation, food inventory for facilities with a population of greater than or equal to twenty-five (25) clients.JOB DUTIESPrepares meal for population of facilityAppropriately follows and posts menus as directed by agency nutritionist or supervisorMaintains inventory of foods and food supplies, and submits requisition of needs to appropriate staffMaintains equipment in clean and proper operating orderResponsible for safety and sanitation of all foods stored, prepared and servedResponsible for teams of clients and other staff as they assist in preparation and storage of foodProvides training to food service assistantsResponsible for following all public health rules and regulations regarding food service deliveryPrepares monthly reports on operation of Food Preparation Component of ProgramAll duties are to be in accordance with the City of Chicago, and State of Illinois guidelines regarding food service QUALIFICATIONSMust posses a valid City and State Food Service licenseHigh School diploma or GED equivalentSpecial training in food service and nutrition recommendedThorough understanding of public health rules and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation Friend Health – HRDI is an equal opportunity employer.
