Grounded in LNCs commitment to diversity inclusivity and responsible citizenship teachers model honor and high expectations as they intentionally cultivate durable skillscommunication critical thinking and adaptabilitythat prepare students to lead contribute and thrive in a complex and ever-evolving world.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstruction and CurriculumDemonstrates strong knowledge of subject area/grade level content and applies effective instructional strategiesPlans prepares and delivers engaging student-centered lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of StudyDifferentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of each studentIntegrates leadership service and character education into classroom instructionAssesses and monitors student learning using a variety of formative and summative methodsEnsures that all constructive feedback grading and reporting are completed within the schools established timeframe so that students parents and counselors have timely access to accurate academic informationStudent Support and SupervisionPromotes the safety well-being and personal growth of all studentsImplements effective classroom management practices and positive behavior supports to proactively support student behavior and engagementParticipates in the development and implementation of IEPs 504 plans and intervention strategies in collaboration with the EC Department school counselors and other professionals/stakeholdersProvides academic and social-emotional guidance to students and families as appropriateEnsures the safety of students through supervision at all times including in the classroom and during non-classroom times (e.g. carpool assemblies lunch field trips)Communication and CollaborationCollaborates effectively with colleagues administrators and support staff to promote student learning and school improvementParticipates actively in professional development (PD) and training courses faculty meetings and action research activitiesEngages in reflective practice and peer collaboration to enhance instructional effectivenessContributes to curriculum development and assessment design as part of the schools continuous improvement effortsProfessional Practice and EthicsMaintains confidentiality and adheres to district guidelines with regard to student information and school recordsResponds effectively in adapting to changing needs schedules or school initiativesSupports and models the values and expectations of Lake Norman Charter in all professional interactionsSchool Culture and LeadershipBuilds and fosters an inclusive respectful and collaborative classroom environment that reflects LNCs commitment to leadership and serviceParticipates in school events extracurricular activities and community initiatives when appropriateAdopts and contributes to the implementation of the school strategic development planServes as a positive role model and advocate for students and the school communityTechnology and Digital CitizenshipIntegrates instructional technology and digital resources to enhance learning maintain accurate records and support students in responsible digital citizenship in an evolving worldApplies AI tools responsibly to enhance instruction streamline administrative tasks and support student learning while exercising professional judgment to ensure accuracy equity and privacyOther ResponsibilitiesPerforms additional duties as assigned by the building principal or other designated administrative staffSKILLS AND ATTRIBUTESStrong instructional design and classroom management skillsCommitment to professional growth and continuous learningAbility to establish and maintain positive relationships with students families and colleaguesDedication to LNCs mission and a collaborative student-focused approachEDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEBachelors degree in Education or a related field requiredPossesses or qualified to apply for NC DPI Teaching License in curriculum area and/or grade levels of direct instructionPrevious successful teaching experience preferred Key Skills Experience Working With Students,Classroom Management,Behavior Management,Classroom Experience,Lesson Planning,Adult Education,Teaching,Tutoring,Curriculum Development,Cordova,Experience with Children,Writing Skills Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
