Human Resources AssistantROLEWe need a Human Resources Assistant for the United States Attorneys Office Eastern District of California (USAO-EDCA). The mission of the US Attorneys Office (USAO) is to prosecute and defend cases on behalf of the federal government. Your role as a Human Resources Assistant is to aid the Human Resources Unit and office employees including other managers on a variety of personnel/human resources related issues. RESPONSIBILITIESAid in the management of reinvestigations and review pre-employment security documents and E-QipComplete reference checks schedule drug testing appointments and address inquiries on new-hire activityPrepare review and process requests for accession actions awards performance management and benefitsAssist with onboarding and out-processing track processing deadlines and communicate themEstablish time and attendance profiles for new employeesProcess employee time and attendance in webTA and resolve time and attendance errorsCoordinate bi-weekly payroll processes and create review and adjust time and attendance codingProvide guidance on leave overtime etc.Scan and upload documents into eOPF system and maintain physical district filesRequest eOPF and military documentsCreate update and maintain spreadsheets and file and retrieve informationMonitor Outlook mailboxes and respond to routine HR inquiriesAssist with HSPD/PIC cards perform occasional reception duties and perform assigned tasks as neededREQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCEKnowledge of and skill in the use of Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint) is requiredKnowledge of personal computers scanners fax machines photocopiers multifunction printers etc. Ability to perform work assignments with attention to detailAbility to construct and maintain a variety of records in electronic and physical formatsAbility to review raw data and transfer information into mediums such as spreadsheets template forms etc. Communication skills interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staffAbility to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional officeSkill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful mannerMust exercise discretion and sound judgment in determining what information may be shared and to whomMaintain confidentiality of personnel data and informationPREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCEAt least one full year of experience performing payroll activities administering employee benefitsAt least one full year of experience with employee onboard processing or general clerical duties in HRREQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalentLOCATIONSacramento CA 95814CLEARANCEU.S Citizenship and ability to pass background investigationCLIENTUnited States Attorneys Office Eastern District of California (USAO-EDCA)TRAVELTravel may be requiredWORK HOURS40 hours per week8 hours per working dayEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATIONEmployment Classification Eligibility W2 RELOCATIONNot eligible for relocation benefitsWest 4th Strategy is an Equal Opportunity (EEO) employer.
