OverviewOverview:To learn the importance of employment law and compliance and to understand the day-to-day operations of an efficient Human Resources Department.ResponsibilitiesPosition DescriptionProvides quality HR compliance and administrative support to HR team members and employeesHave the opportunity to attend trainings and meetings relative to the HR profession cultivate interpersonal skills develop negotiating and public speaking abilities and foster time management skills.The Intern will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team included aiding other departments as they relate to department projects. We expect the intern to gain an in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes particularly the process activities in-which they will be directly involved. The intern will have opportunities to assist in nearly all aspects of the workflow.Key AccountabiltiesCoordination of summer internship programAudit of I9 Personnel Hep B files etcShredding of confidential informationPrepare folders to get archivedFiling of paperworkHandle reference checksAssist with the hiring of new and temporary employeesAudit and update as needed job descriptions to current formatAssist HR team with Presentations and Training ProgramsEvaluate and document exit interview resultsReviewing federal and state laws for changesHelp with coverage in the HR department as neededOther HR tasks as assignedQualificationsMinimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:College degree program candidate in Business Administration or Human Resources perferredDetail oriented with strong organizational and planning skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneouslyStrong problem solving capabilities with the ability to make decisions including when to escalate the problemProficient in Word Excel PowerPoint and e-mailThe hourly wage range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $21 to $26.
