LABOR & EMPLOYMENT COUNSEL ATTORNEYLocation: Los Angeles CAA prominent AmLaw 100 national law firm is seeking a talented Counsel Attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice in Los Angelesoffice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned practitioner to handle sophisticated employment litigation and advisory matters for a diverse client base.Candidate ProfileJD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic recordActive Bar Admission in California in good standing912 years of substantive labor & employment experienceExperience defending single-plaintiff employment litigation matters including discrimination harassment retaliation wage and hour and reasonable accommodation claimsExperience handling Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions and employment class actionsHigh proficiency in drafting and responding to pleadings and discoveryHigh proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive and discovery motionsExperience taking and defending depositions including plaintiff depositions and defense of corporate witnessesExperience advising clients on federal and California employment laws and regulationsA modest portable book of business is preferred but not requiredDemonstrated ability to independently manage matters from initial assessment through resolutionSoft Skills: Strong research writing analytical communication case management and client-relationship skills; ability to work independently and collaborativelyKey ResponsibilitiesDefend employers in single-plaintiff employment matters including discrimination harassment retaliation and wage and hour disputesHandle PAGA andemployment-related class actionsManage litigation from inception to resolution including strategy development pleadings discovery motion practice depositions and negotiationAdvise clients regarding compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulationsCollaborate with colleagues and clients to develop proactive workforce and litigation strategiesWhy Join UsThis position offers the opportunity to join a sophisticated national labor and employment practice known for its deep bench strong client relationships and supportive culture.
