Human Resources ManagerNovember 20, 2025Lake Forest College, one of the top liberal arts schools in the Midwest, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to administer day-to-day human resources functions as well as advise on related issues. The successful candidate will be a versatile HR generalist, adept at handling multiple areas of HR, collaborating with campus stakeholders, and supporting strategic HR initiatives.Recruitment & OnboardingDevelop job descriptions and postings with supervisors, identify targeted recruitment sources, and post jobs.Implement and manage Recruitment module in ADP Workforce Now.Create and conduct formal onboarding program with HR Generalist.Benefits AdministrationAdminister benefits programs, including compliance and audit responsibilities.Execute annual open enrollment process in ADP Workforce Now.Manage time off programs, FMLA, accommodations, and Worker’s Compensation.Employee RelationsServe as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies and procedures.Work with supervisors on employee coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and terminations.Partner on interdepartmental projects to support employees.Data ManagementEnsure accuracy of data in ADP Workforce Now.Collect and analyze HR data and metrics; prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external entities.OtherManage performance evaluation process for staff employees.Review and approve payroll with Finance team.Research compliance-related issues and recommend changes.Provide training to managers on HR topics.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience3 years of related HR generalist experience required with strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practicesProficiency with HRIS systemsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailEffective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated project management skillsAbility to make appropriate decisions and use good judgmentAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple shifting prioritiesPreferred QualificationsProficiency with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred5 or more years of related HR experienceExperience working in a college or nonprofit settingFamiliarity with immigration processes helpfulSHRM or HRCI certificationAbility to work occasional evening and weekend hoursSalary and BenefitsSalary: $75,000 - $85,000Benefits: www.lakeforest.edu/offices-and-departments/human-resources/employee-benefitsApplicationInterested applicants should email a resume and cover letter to [email protected].
