Job Description

Nicolozakes Trucking & Construction, Inc., a family-owned company in Cambridge, Ohio, is celebrating 72 years in business and seeking a detail-focused Full-Time Human Resources Manager to join our team. This role requires strong HR experience, solid knowledge of HR regulations and best practices, and the ability to support a positive, safety-focused workplace What You’ll Do • Lead and coordinate HR processes and functions across the organization • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and new-hire compliance • Develop, lead, and support employee training initiatives • Manage company safety programs, including compliance audits and safety training • Maintain accurate, confidential HR files and safety documentation • Administer benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA, life insurance, and 401(k) • Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and return-to-work procedures • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and other federal/state regulations • Experience overseeing Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, driver qualification files, and routine safety audits. • Lead policy development, handbook updates, and HR best practice initiatives • Support employee relations, coaching supervisors, and guiding corrective action processes • Communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the company • Assist with payroll processing What We’re Looking For • A minimum of 5 years Human Resources Management experience within either manufacturing, trucking or construction, including compliance and employee relations. • Strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEO) • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety requirements. • Experience with safety oversight and employee training programs • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations to daily workplace situations • Experience supporting managers with coaching, investigations, and documentation • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels Benefits • 401(k) with 3% safe harbor • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Health savings account (HSA) • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan Schedule Monday–Friday, day shift, on-site in Cambridge.
