Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: DOEPosition Summary:Responsible for effectively and efficiently organizing and coordinating HVAC commercial jobs including hanging and installing HVAC equipment and ductwork, operating equipment, training sheet metal apprentices and meeting with and assisting general contractors and county building inspectors.Position Duties:Responsible for the correct and timely completion of tasks related to the proper installation of commercial HVAC equipment.Spots, sets and levels curbs.Hang air handlers and related HVAC equipment.Installs metal and fiberglass ductwork properly.Performs grille out, assist on air balancingOperates rental equipment to include scissor lifts, chair falls and duct lifts.Insures ductwork is properly insulated.Insures hoods are hung properly.Operates power tools including drills, Sawzall and port-a-bands.Meets and assists as needed county and state inspectors.Responsible for reading and comprehending blueprints, submittals and specifications for all jobs. Maintain a set of as-builts as job progresses.Coordinates and organizes each job with respect to manpower, material and subcontractors.Provides on-going training for all applicable sheet metal apprentices.Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of company procedures and industry standard regarding all installation practices.Responsible for keeping vehicle clean, maintained and appropriately stocked.Completes and submits required reports, timesheets and job tickets as required.Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA and company safety protocols. Responsible for performing all tasks in accordance with proper safety techniques and policy while ensuring all team members comply with Howells safety policy.Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all company policies and procedures.Performs all additional duties as requested by the construction manager.Position QualificationsKnowledge/Education:Education sufficient to effectively and efficiently apply industry and company standards as it applies to the proper installation of customers HVAC equipmentKnowledge and understanding of the appropriate use of sheet metal mechanic toolsKnowledge of county and industry codesKnowledge of hand tools and their proper usageKnowledge of OSHA codes and regulationsMust have demonstrated interest in completing periodic continuing education courses that are related to and enhance the efficient and effective performance of job responsibilitiesTraining/Experience:Four (4) years experience in hanging duct and installationMust possess HVAC Journeymans Card or be in the process of obtaining such.Skills/Aptitudes/Abilities:Ability to read blueprintsAbility to miter and measure up duct fittingsAbility to interact appropriately with all customers in accordance with company policyMust possess valid Virginia drivers license, be company insurable, with acceptable driving and criminal records in accordance with any applicable regulationsAbility to communicate effectively and courteously with customers and co-workersMust be CPR and First Aid certified or agreeable to become certifiedMust possess reliable transportationPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:Ability to lift and carryAbility to stand, bend, crawl in tight spacesAbility to work efficiently in all weather extremesAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs while ascending a ladderAbility to work above ground level with no fear of heights
