Position Summary
The HVAC Installer / Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This position works on new construction, remodels, retrofits, service calls, and preventative maintenance while ensuring customer satisfaction and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Install HVAC systems on residential and light commercial construction projects.
Review blueprints and mechanical layouts to plan and complete installations.
Install ductwork, equipment, controls, and mechanical systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues.
Present findings and repair options to customers.
Coordinate with general contractors and other trades to maintain project timelines.
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, company standards, and safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Complete required paperwork, service documentation, and time records accurately.
Work independently and as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Participate in after-hours and on-call service rotation as required.
Any other duties and responsibilities that can be assigned by management to enhance the progression of Gilk Services.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of HVAC installation and/or service experience.
EPA Certification for handling refrigerants or willingness to obtain.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical layouts.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient with technology, mobile applications, and computer programs related to the position.
Valid Class D Driver's License.
HVAC certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Push, pull, carry, and maneuver heavier items with assistance or equipment.
Carry and work from ladders.
Work at heights, in crawl spaces, attics, and confined areas.
Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively.
