Job Title: HVAC Operator Location: Sarasota, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 61380 Department The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University. Learn more about The Ringling at https://www.ringling.org/about-ringling/careers/.Responsibilities This position serves as an HVAC Operator and assists the Facilities Supervisor for Ringling Buildings Maintenance. Monitors operation of computerized heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (Chilled Water Plant). Maintains appropriate operational logs and analyzes trends in system. Makes appropriate system adjustments to maintain consistent system production and efficient energy consumption. Works together with Facilities Supervisor and HVAC Support Worker on determining daily assignments. Makes suggestions and provides guidance on plant operations.Develops and carries out preventative maintenance program for plant operation with guidance from the Facilities Supervisor. Troubleshoots and identifies chilled water pipe problems. Performs repairs on heating and/or air conditioning equipment. Uses motorized vehicle to transport tools and materials.Assists with emergency and or special Facilities' maintenance projects as needed. Remains on-call during designated periods outside normal working hours as needed to monitor and remotely make necessary adjustments for the chiller plant. While on-call, the incumbent may be required to return to the work site to respond to maintenance emergencies.Generates and responds to emails and work orders via online work order system. Updates work order system once per day regarding progress and/or upon completion of assignment.Performs a variety of work to maintain all buildings on campus such as pressure washing, painting, plumbing, filter changes, inspecting buildings/equipment to ensure good and safe operating conditions. Performs other duties and projects as assigned that support museum operations, including performing grounds work or general assistance for the Facilities department at the museum.Qualifications High school diploma and two years' experience.Relevant Technical or Vocational degree may substitute for experience.Ability to meet physical requirements as determined by position including the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in small spaces.Valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.Preferred Qualifications Technical or vocational degree or certification in HVAC. Steam boiler and Alerton and Tracer Summit experience. Familiar with Commercial/Industrial centralized HVAC systems.
