HVAC Refrigeration Technician at Greater Ohio Mechanical Plus

Greater Ohio Mechanical Plus is seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while delivering excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems
• Install new HVAC systems, ductwork, refrigeration equipment, and related components according to specifications and local codes
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues efficiently and accurately
• Perform inspections, equipment testing, repairs, and system replacements
• Service and repair refrigeration systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, ice machines, walk-in coolers/freezers, and related equipment
• Perform hot side equipment repair and installation including commercial kitchen equipment when needed
• Complete light electrical and plumbing work associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
• Respond to emergency maintenance and service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and system operation
• Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle, tools, and work area

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or commercial equipment service preferred
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques
• EPA Certification preferred
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge required
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying weather conditions
