HVAC Service Technician Residential / Commercial at Trade Allies HC

We're a family-run, locally owned HVAC company serving the Des Moines metro, and we're looking for an experienced technician who can confidently handle both residential service with sales and the ability to help on installs when needed. We are looking for well-rounded HVAC technician who can confidently handle both service calls and replacements.

This is not a "service-only" role - we are looking for well rounded individuals with service, sales, and install knowledge that can deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
• Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, thermostats, zoning systems, IAQ products, and related equipment
• Help with HVAC system replacements including furnaces, AC systems, heat pumps, and mini splits
• Identify electrical, airflow, refrigerant, and control-related issues
• Replace defective components including motors, capacitors, boards, sensors, ignitors, relays, and contactors
• Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners and team members
• Provide honest, non-pressure recommendations
• Complete service tickets and job documentation accurately
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
• Follow company safety procedures and HVAC industry best practices

Requirements

• 3+ years of residential HVAC
• EPA Certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and service literature
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field
• Strong communication and customer service skills
