Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Hydraulic System Test Technician will plan and conduct accurate and efficient testing of a variety of engineered systems, which contain primarily hydraulic and electronic components. This role will play an integral part in helping to achieve our corporate goal, which is to provide 100% customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality solutions on time. This employee will work independently with minimum supervision, and will frequently interact with customers to perform witness testing. Reports to Fluid Systems Shop Foreman. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Responsible for full functional integration, independently, of our engineered solutions.Perform complex system tests utilizing electronic tools, test equipment, transducers, data logging devices, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment. Occasionally, the employee will be required to perform assembly functions in a manufacturing environment. The employee utilizes mechanical skills, hand and power tools, and mechanical/electronic tools to complete assembly projects and assignments. Set up test equipment to measure and record system conformance to test specifications. Conduct tests using common and/or computerized data acquisition equipment, and interpret/record test results on data reports, forms, and logs. Troubleshoot and rework malfunctions disclosed by the test data independently. Verify new production assembly and test procedures and recommends processes to achieve desired results. Interpret blueprints, hydraulic and wiring diagrams, test specifications, service bulletins, and customer requirements. Conduct training with less experienced team members. Provide technical support to other related groups and co-workers, including complex testing at other Airline facilities. Communicate issues found during testing with engineering and project management and work with them on a resolution.Develop procedures and best practices for internal equipment calibration for all facilities.Develop test procedures for repeat assemblies as seen fit. Other related duties as assigned. RequirementsA degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or some college is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Able to work independently with limited supervision. Demonstrate a broad and comprehensive understanding of complex hydraulic equipment involving electronics. Proficient in the use of measurement and gauging equipment and processes. As required, must be able to set up test fixtures independently. Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments. Must possess excellent mechanical reasoning. Hydraulic and/or electrical background required. Measurement conversion and fluids theory knowledge required for test applications. Leakage, flow, friction, and pressure knowledge required. Using a hydraulic circuit, be able to identify all settings and parameters that must be verified and/or set during testAbility to understand and articulate complicated ideas and principles in a precise and professional mannerStrong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with customers on the shop floor.
