A leading energy services organization is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Manager to lead electrical and instrumentation operations supporting natural gas compression and field equipment across a designated region. This role is responsible for overseeing I&E technicians, maintaining the reliability of compressor packages and control systems, and ensuring safe, efficient operations across field sites.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of I&E technicians responsible for maintaining compressor packages and associated electrical and instrumentation systems.
Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Serve as the senior technical resource for complex troubleshooting involving electrical motor controls, PLC systems, instrumentation, and compressor package control systems.
Support commissioning, major maintenance events, overhauls, and mobilization/demobilization of compression equipment.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical issues across field operations.
Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
Collaborate with operations leadership to plan maintenance activities, staffing needs, and operational priorities.
Assist with budget planning, workforce scheduling, and regional maintenance strategy.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and operations teams to maintain appropriate parts inventory and ensure equipment availability.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with field personnel, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections are documented accurately and completed in accordance with company procedures.
Participate in field support as needed, including occasional overtime or emergency response when operational issues arise.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Technology preferred.
7+ years of experience in natural gas compression, rotating equipment, or related industrial field operations.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing I&E technicians or maintenance personnel preferred.
Strong experience with medium voltage systems (4160V) and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
Deep understanding of compressor packages and engines, including Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, and similar equipment.
Advanced knowledge of pneumatic and electric starters, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition systems, and compression equipment anatomy.
Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems, instrumentation devices, and electrical control panels.
Familiarity with modern electronic engine controls and compressor control systems.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Additional Information
This role may require field travel within the assigned region.
Participation in on-call rotations or emergency maintenance support may be required.
