Job DescriptionCertificates and Licenses: Texas Teaching CertificateResidency Requirements: TEXASSalary: This position has a salary of around $53000.Start Date: School Year 2025/2026SUMMARY: The IDEA Curriculum Coordinator plans and coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education as well as generally oversees the development implementation and assessment of teacher developed customized lessons activities assessments and tools for these grades.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education; Monitors the implementation and evaluation of these objectives;Plans and monitors teacher development and implementation of customized lessons activities assessments and tools for these grades including special populations;Evaluates effectiveness of the material;Supports course audits ensuring alignment to state standards.Develops and aligns curriculum assessments and instructional materials to state standardsEnsures instructional programs meet all state and federal guidelines including those for special populations (e.g. GT ELL Special Education).Collaborates with teachers and administrators to design formative and summative assessments.Mentors/acts as a resource to teachers by providing expertise and ongoing support; Conducts curriculum meetings as required;Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years of teaching experienceCurriculum Design experienceWorking knowledge of Texas state standards (TEKS)Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Project Visio etc.); Web proficiency.Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to travel 20% of the timeAbility to clear required background checkDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in CurriculumExperience developing curriculum and assessmentExperience with building High Quality Instructional Materials for the classroomProject Management experienceExperience teaching or leading in an online settingWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
