IMMEDIATE 25-26 Part Time Elementary Recess Aide at KIPP

Role Overview:Recess Aides primarily provide general supervision of elementary-aged children during outdoor (or indoor) recess helping to ensure that recess is a safe joyful experience for students. Candidates for this position should enjoy engaging with children and have some experience supporting children in school after/before school summer camp and/or daycare settings. Recess Monitor must be all weekdays; hours vary a bit by school but typically include mid-morning to afternoon hours (10:00am-2:00pm or 11:00am-3:00pm). Key Responsibilities:Provide quality supervision of children including but not limited to:Providing children with clear directions and expectations upholding and reinforcing schoolwide behavior systemsPositively redirecting students who are struggling to meet behavior expectations to get them back on track quicklyCreating opportunities for collaborative play (organizing or facilitating games suggesting activities etc.) while maintaining supervision of whole groupEnsuring children are able to enjoy a recess free from bullyingCommunicating with school-based staff regarding any student concerns or recess needsBringing out play equipment and ensure the play yard is tidied up after recessOther relevant duties as assigned by the School PrincipalQualifications : Love and see the high potential of all childrenExperience working with children in school childcare or enrichment settingsAbility to quickly build relationships and rapport with children and uphold high expectations in a warm but clear and direct mannerFlexible team-player committed to ensuring a positive joyful experience for studentsComplete all required criminal and child abuse background checks:PA State Police ClearancePA Child Abuse ClearanceCogent Federal FingerprintingAdditional Information : CompensationRecess Aides are compensated at $15.00 - $18.00 per hour commensurate upon experience typically work (20) hours/week.Note to ApplicantsKIPP Philadelphia Schools is an equal opportunity employer.  Employees are selected on the basis of ability without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability marital status or sexual orientation in accordance with federal and state law. Remote Work : NoEmployment Type : Part-time Key Skills Bidding,Apps,Benefits,Corporate Recruitment,Android Development Experience: years Vacancy: 1
