This role consists of approximately 50% on-site support and 50% in-office and remote support. All candidates must be able to provide friendly customer service using remote management applications telephone and email tools as well as provide IT support services with the highest level of integrity while adhering to our Core Values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.Support clients in a Windows Domain InfrastructureStrong Troubleshooting skills in Windows Desktop Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows Server Active DirectoryTroubleshooting hardware such as servers desktops laptops printers telephones and mobile devicesIntermediate to advanced knowledge of WAN and LAN connectivity routers switches and firewallsRemote Support using remote connectivity toolsImplement client infrastructure design and upgrade projectsInitiate preventative maintenance work and/or diagnostics on computers and peripheralsAssist in determination of technology requirementsWork independently with limited supervision and directionEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with clients IT Staff and vendorsReal-Time daily Time Tracking and detailed system documentation in ConnectWiseSelf-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic environmentAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced high-pressure environmentCommunicate with clients in a positive manner as required keeping them informed of incident progress and notification of impending changes or agreed-upon outagesEngineer Reports to: Service ManagerGeneral Summary:Network Engineers are strong in all the most common and popular networking addition to strong technical aptitudes this person is a powerful communicator. This person should be prompt and/or know the importance of communicating ETAs to clients. This person should be skillful at pre-project/work-briefings with each client on each project. This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems. Position Responsibilities: Server Operating SystemsInstallation configuration and troubleshootingConfigure file and print servicesBasic administration including add/remove users and groups configure file permissions check event logs configure and restore from backupRequired: WindowsTroubleshooting and configurationConfiguration of standard POP SMTP & Exchange clients including OutlookInstallation configuration troubleshooting and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customers preferencesSolid understanding of and ability to install configure and test workstation hardware including video cards NICs sound cards hard drives and PDAsOther Preferred Technical KnowledgeSolid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP subnetting and troubleshooting Internet connectivityExperience with and understanding of routers and firewallsUnderstanding of relationship between switches patch panels and connecting nodes to a networkUnderstanding of DNS servicesUnderstanding of High Availability / Load Balancing solutionsOther ConsiderationsDAILY time entry accounting for at least 8 hours in the form of Resolution Notes in Service TicketsMonthly billing should be at least 75% or more of a typical month of about 170 hours availableRegular and timely completion of Minimum Documentation Standards for each clientOn-going self-training to preserve professional viability is a mustExecution and conclusion of projects on-time and/or successful management of client expectations when targets cannot be metGood communication with Account Managers and Service Manager with regards to events and changes transpiring at client sitesTakes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolutionTakes a personal interest in and responsibility for quality of work they perform or are associated withAbility to pay close attention to detail while performing technically detailed tasksAbility to deal effectively with stressful situationsAbility and willingness to recognize when it is necessary to ask for technical expertise from others without unnecessarily burdening other team membersAbility to provide accurate time estimates for how long a task will takeUnderstands that the success of individuals is measured by the success of their teamsAbility to quickly learn new technologies through the use of self-study materials and intuitionEnjoys helping people to the extent that no problem is considered mundane no matter how simple the solution (i.e. -- Susie cant print)Enjoys sharing information supporting others and working on a team to achieve team goalsGeneral QualificationsThis position requires strong communication troubleshooting planning and execution skills. Preference will be given to candidates with college degrees and/or current vendor certifications. Subject to standing sitting walking climbing crawling bending stooping crouching kneeling pushing pulling reaching twisting balancing repetitive motion and squatting to perform the essential functions.
