Job Description: The Implementation Specialist will support research project operations for Project SUSTAIN: Sustaining Special Education Teachers by Improving Working Conditions—A Collaborative Intervention Development and Investigation of Promise, a four-year research study (July 2024- June 2028) funded by the Institute of Education Sciences. Special educators have long experienced challenging working conditions, inhibiting their capacity to effectively serve students with disabilities and leading to high attrition rates. Though these problems have long been documented, to date, no interventions have been developed to systematically address them. In Project SUSTAIN, we are developing and testing an intervention to improve special educators' working conditions. This is a time-limited position. Responsibilities: Lead participant recruitment and implementation for one or more participating districts, depending on district size and location. Lead data collection for one or more participating districts, depending on size and location. Supporting project team with district relationship management. Support project team with intervention adaptation. Support dissemination efforts. 37.5 hours per week. Exact days and times per week are negotiable as long as they occur between Monday and Friday 8am to 5pm, excepting when participants require support outside of those hours. There are no schedule variations required.Expected Salary: $60,000 - $75,000Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: PhD (or ABD with plan to complete in 2026) in Special Education or related field Experience supporting funded research projects Experience managing complex research projects or collecting data in school settings Substantial experience collecting data in educational settings Experience working as a teacher, principal, or district leader Record of successful collaboration with school districts Special Instructions to Applicants: In order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.
