This role is located onsite in Highland Heights and requires to be in office 5 days per week. The Import Export Customs Specialist will manage import and export compliance processes to ensure adherence to Customs regulations. The Specialist will be a leader of process improvements to ensure compliance to trade regulations while facilitating the inbound and outbound movement of shipments to and from USA and Canada.Ensure compliance of company import and export shipmentsResponsible for delivering payment of duties and taxes on timeAttention to details with HTS codes duty and tariffs amounts GST values accurate country of origins and other duties as assignedResponsible for reconciling payments through company customs softwareReview vendor certificates to ensure accuracyPartner with customers to issue FTA certificatesCollaborate with international freight forwarders to book import/export shipmentsAuditing freight pay and other tasks as assignedRenewing customs bondAbility to classify products for import/export compliance and issue USMCA certificationsCollaborate cross-functionally with other teams including sales supply chain and R&DWho are we looking for Associates degree in a related field required.Bachelors degree or four-year equivalent degree preferred.Customs Broker or CCS/CES certification preferred.3-5 years of international logistics or import/export complianceIn depth knowledge of import/export regulationsAbility to communicate effectively across different functionsWork Environment/Physical Demands:Works out of a normal office environment with standard office equipment available.Extended periods of sitting or standing at a desk or workstation.Repetitive tasks such as typing filing and data entry which may require dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Will be required to sit bend kneel squat use keyboard read write and speak fluently.Employee will regularly be required to lift and carry objects of 5-10 pounds as needed.Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 15-25 pounds as needed.Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume fast paced highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis.This role is not typically exposed to adverse environmental conditions except excessive eye strain.When travel is necessary will be exposed to typical travel environment and surroundings.Prysmian as an Equal Opportunity Employer aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds skills and abilities.
