In-Home Physical Therapy (PT Student or Recent Graduate) — Sports Performance Focus at Independent Client
JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role
We are seeking a DPT/PT student or recent graduate to work one-on-one with a motivated, athletic client in Austin in a long-term, in-home, performance-focused setting. This is a non-insurance role centered on movement quality, biomechanics, posture, and injury prevention, with a strong emphasis on tennis performance and asymmetry management. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in sports physical therapy, movement analysis, and preventive care, outside of a traditional clinic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform movement and postural assessments
- Design and progress individualized mobility and strengthening programs
- Provide hands-on cueing and mobility techniques as appropriate
- Adjust sessions based on training load and tournament schedule
- Brief coordination between sessions as needed
Focus Areas
- Thoracic mobility and posture
- Hip hinge mechanics and posterior chain mobility
- Neural mobility (post-sciatica limitations)
- Tennis biomechanics and asymmetry management
- Recovery and injury prevention
Schedule & Logistics
- Location: In-home sessions (Austin, TX)
- Frequency: 2–3 sessions per week
- Session Length: Approximately 60–75 minutes
- Schedule: Flexible
- Early mornings and evenings possible
- Weekend availability preferred
Pay range and compensation package
Compensation: Approximately $125/hour, paid directly. No insurance billing. No productivity quotas.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a DPT program or recently graduated
Required Skills
- Strong interest in sports and performance-based physical therapy
- Comfortable working independently in a non-clinic setting
- Strong communication and reliability
- For licensed applicants: Texas PT license or eligibility.
Preferred Skills
- Strong tennis knowledge or experience working with tennis players
- Interest in strength & conditioning
- Experience with athletes or rotational sports
