The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking Industrial Electricians who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot diagnose and repair electrical systems machinery and equipment including PLCs motors and control panels. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime. Install calibrate and maintain new electrical equipment wiring and control systems according to blueprints and specifications. Interpret electrical schematics blueprints and technical manuals to guide installation repair and maintenance tasks. Adhere strictly to all electrical codes safety regulations (e.g. Lockout/Tagout) and company policies. Conduct regular inspections and tests of electrical systems and components to identify potential hazards or malfunctions. Document all maintenance activities repairs and parts used accurately for record-keeping and inventory management. Recommended Qualifications Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent state certification. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems including PLCs motor controls and VFDs. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics blueprints and technical manuals. Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E safety standards. Proven experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing electrical equipment. Bonus Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude or experience with industrial machinery. Proficiency in PLC programming (beyond troubleshooting) for various platforms (e.g. Allen-Bradley Siemens). Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and preventative maintenance. Certification or specialized training in robotics automation or specific high-voltage systems.
