DescriptionThe Industrial Engineer plays a vital role in safeguarding process integrity within the manufacturing plant. Through precise routing maintenance time studies and accurate documentation of tooling and gaging this position ensures that every product follows the correct process while delivering clear visibility into Operator performance OEE and capacity metrics. These efforts drive operational efficiency and support strategic improvements across the plant.In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:Maintaining accurate routings including documenting process steps and ratesPerforming time studies of machining and labor processes to establish ratesMaintaining accurate tooling and gaging information associated with processesMonitoring and addressing data issues related to work centers and routingsProactively identifying and helping address the highest-impact performance lossesInteracting with shop floor personnel to understand and investigate process issuesContributing to authoring standards procedures and work instructions for the Industrial Engineering team and related functionsAssisting Manufacturing Engineering with cost calculations and OEE simulationsEnsuring that Operator and Job Setter work instructions follow best practicesAuthoring Appropriations Requests (ARs) for major capital purchasesHelping guide co-ops interns and remote workers to productively assist the Industrial Engineering teamUsing Business Intelligence tools (such as Domo) to prioritize work in a quantified fashionHelping maintain shop floor layouts and other machine-related digital recordsWho You Are:You are a detail-oriented analytical problem solver who communicates well across all levels of a manufacturing organization - from shop floor operators to department leaders. You thrive in environments where accuracy efficiency and collaboration matter. You take pride in making processes work better for people and play a key role in driving continuous improvement at the plant level. You enjoy having many disparate ongoing assignments and tasks.For This Role You Will Need:Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or a relevant engineering field or equivalent experienceAt least one year of practical experience in Industrial Engineering or a related disciplineExperience using digital tools for collaboration and work trackingWillingness to work on-siteStrong communication and writing skillsLegal authorization to work in the United StatesPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Experience performing time studiesTechnical writing skillsExperience with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)Experience working within a Lean Organization (leading Kaizens in 5S setup reduction layout development and process improvement)Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) softwareAbout our location:Since the invention of the modern pipe wrench in 1923 the 25-acre RIDGID world headquarters in Elyria OHhasbeen developing tools that help trades professionals tackle jobs faster safer and more accurately.
