With a dedicated, growing workforce and an emergency response plan that enables quick and effective service, CEEUS, Inc. continues to be a reliable partner to the electric utilities we support so that they can serve their local communities.Organizational RelationshipsDepartment: Business Systems & TechnologyReports To: Director of Business Transformation & Continuous ImprovementPurposeThe Industrial Engineering Intern supports process improvement, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency projects within the distribution center and related departments. This role provides hands-on learning and project participation to help improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.Nature and ScopeThis position works closely with engineers, operations staff, warehouse managers, and cross-functional teams to collect data, analyze processes, and assist in implementing changes. The internship provides experience in real-world problem solving, industrial engineering methodologies, and supply chain operations.QualitiesThe Industrial Engineering Intern we are looking for will be:Analytical Thinker: Approaches problems with data-driven solutionsCurious Learner: Eager to gain hands-on industry experienceDetail-Oriented: Accurately collects and interprets operational dataCollaborative: Works well with both technical and non-technical team membersAdaptable: Adjusts to changes in project scope and operational prioritiesSafety-Conscious: Maintains awareness of workplace safety protocolsOrganized: Balances multiple tasks and project timelines effectivelyProactive: Takes initiative in contributing ideas and improvementsCommunicative: Shares findings clearly through written reports and presentationsResourceful: Seeks creative ways to improve processes and workflowsJob ResponsibilitiesAssist in collecting and analyzing operational data related to warehouse and distribution activitiesSupport time studies, workflow mapping, and capacity analysis projectsHelp identify opportunities for process improvementParticipate in the design and layout of workstations, storage systems, and process flowsAssist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materialsCollaborate with supervisors and managers to test and implement process changesSupport equipment evaluations and ergonomic assessmentsContribute to safety audits and improvement initiativesPresent project findings and recommendations to managementPerform other duties as assigned in support of the engineering and operations teamsWorking Location and ConditionsBased at CEEUS headquarters and distribution center in West Columbia, SCStandard working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with 1-hour lunch (flexible scheduling for students)Standard two 15-minute break periods per dayFrequent presence on the warehouse floor; may require standing, walking, and light liftingEssential Job FunctionsAbility to sit or stand at a workstation for up to six hours at a timeFine motor skills and finger dexterity for precise and efficient use of a keyboard, mouse, and trackpadAbility to communicate frequently and clearly in both verbal and written formatsAbility to see and interpret detailed information, including small text and images, on screens, paper, or other materials, with or without corrective lensesAbility to process complex information, evaluate multiple variables, and apply logical reasoning to solve problems and make informed decisionsEducation, Knowledge, and ExperienceRequired QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an accredited college/universityMajor in Industrial Engineering, business, or a related fieldProficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysisEager to learn, analytical, and detail-orientedPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with workflow mapping or process improvement toolsPrior exposure to warehouse or supply chain operations (through coursework, projects, or prior internships)Job Posted by ApplicantPro
