Industrial Maintenance Electrician at Southwark Metal Manufacturing Co
JOB DESCRIPTION
Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is hiring an ElectricalMaintenance Technician for our facility in Philadelphia, PA.
The Maintenance Technician will work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of our machinery and equipment in our production facility and warehouse. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute as a valuable team member within our manufacturing process and towards our overall success.
What you'll be doing:
Assist in the preventive maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and tools used in sheet metal manufacturing
Conduct routine inspections, diagnose problems, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure minimal downtime
Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment
Conduct routine cleaning of machinery to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
Help maintain an inventory of spare parts and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for timely procurement
Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
Collaborate with other teams to identify and recommend improvements in equipment performance
Comply with all company policies, regulations, and standards related to maintenance activities, including wearing protective equipment as required
Continuously engage with management team in ongoing training to stay updated on new products, services, policies, and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
What we need:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance or a related field is preferred
Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance, Building Maintenance or similar role
Experience with basic electrical components (starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
Experience working on equipment from 440vac through 24 volts, and understanding of DC voltage.
Experience with product manuals and schematics (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
Experience with schematics (electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, and relays)
Experience with reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics)
Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (diagnostics, problem-solving, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently
The ability to read, write and understand English and have basic math skills to complete job requirements satisfactorily
Ability to follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, and manage time effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and adhere to safety protocols
