This crucial role is responsible for performing and overseeing all facility and equipment maintenance repair installation and removal. Now one of the largest pallet manufacturing and recycling companies in the United States PLA has over 76 facilities employing upwards of 3500 employees across 23 states and is still looking for opportunities for growth both organically and through acquisition.What Youll Do (Essential Functions)You will be the key technical expert ensuring the continuous operation of our facility and production equipment. Your core responsibilities include:Preventive Maintenance & Repair: Perform and oversee all preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of equipment including production machinery (SMETCO Palamatic) forklifts yard trucks compressors and hydraulic systems.Systems Expertise: Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems plumbing lighting HVAC pneumatic/vacuum systems and electric motors.Facility Upkeep: Maintain the integrity of all facility buildings and grounds.Documentation: Maintain accurate logs for all machinery maintenance and ensure all forklift driver logs are current.Safety & Compliance: Uphold all safety and environmental policies and procedures. You must be able to:Lift/Carry: Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift/carry 51-100 lbs.Push/Pull: Frequently push/pull up to 25 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 100 lbs.Work Environment: Requires working around moving mechanical parts with a typically moderate noise level.PPE: Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toe shoes ear plugs and safety glasses.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold) and moderate to high noise levels.
