You will perform routine and preventative maintenance troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems and support new installations and upgrades across the facility. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems; support equipment installations and modifications; and work closely with production quality and maintenance leadership to maintain plant uptime and equipment integrity.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of food processing and auxiliary equipment.Execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining food safety.Communicate effectively with production and quality teams regarding equipment status.Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities at the McCain Plover plant.Maintain and take accountability for all assigned equipment and tools.Coordinate daily duties with the Maintenance Supervisor.Provide availability for emergency repair of critical equipment.Communicate maintenance concerns operability issues and repair needs with the Maintenance Supervisor.Perform breakdown preventive and predictive maintenance on food process equipment.Maintain accountability for work order completion tools equipment uptime and reliability.Document repair records work orders downtime events and service needs.Use computer systems to input work order data and locate parts.Work collaboratively in a team environment and handle fast-paced complex equipment scenarios.Follow all GMP safety and PPE guidelines including fire-rated uniform requirements.Perform all other duties as assigned.Special RequirementsAbility to work safely around mechanical electrical and high-speed equipment.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to independently analyze problems and apply logical troubleshooting steps.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-demand manufacturing environment.Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and willingness to learn additional technical skills.QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent required.Two-year technical college degree preferred.Experience:Minimum 2 years working knowledge of food processing equipment; 5 years preferred.Electrical and mechanical knowledge equivalent to a technical certificate program required; Electromechanical degree or Journeyman status preferred.PLC programming and robotics experience preferred.Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs variable speed drives servo controls and process controllers required.Basic metalworking TIG welding and metal fabrication skills required.Experience with lathe mill shear brake and ironworker equipment is a plus.Skills & Technical Requirements:Ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English.Ability to interpret written oral and diagram instructions.Ability to analyze technical data and draw logical conclusions.Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Fire-rated uniforms and garments must be worn at all times.Working ConditionsExposure to moving mechanical parts food fumes airborne particles and loud noise.Work in extreme cold extreme heat and elevated areas such as ceiling spaces roof areas ladders and high lifts.Requires physical activity equipment interaction and consistent adherence to safety procedures.Scope of AuthorityAll employees have the right to question or refuse unsafe work.All employees are expected to take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of people product and equipment.The McCain ExperienceWe are McCain: this statement reflects our collective power and individual importanceyour impact makes a difference.
