Responsibilities include:Assisting in project management tasks as assigned by the project management staffDeveloping skills and progressively take on more responsibilityThis position would work in various McGough industrial sectors, which include Agriculture (Biofuels, Oilseed), Power & Infrastructure, Pharma, Life Sciences and Tech.Qualifications:Preferred:Construction Management or related degreeInternship, education or field experienceOffice and Travel:Office: Corporate office and various jobsites as needed.Travel: Flexibility for travel is desirable with ability to temporarily relocate or regularly travel to project sites in the Upper Midwest regionResponsibilities and Tasks:Pursuit, Preconstruction and Business DevelopmentAssist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirementsParticipate in QA/AC page turn sessionsMcGough Self-Performed WorkUnderstand self-perform capabilitiesUnderstand warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools and servicesEstimating and BiddingPerform quantity take-offsAssist project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontract bidsAssist in performing trade scope reviewsSchedulingAssist superintendent and project manager with Critical Path Method (CPM) schedulingLearn and understand Last Planner systemParticipate in daily/weekly work planningProject DocumentationReview all drawings and specificationsUpload/Download electronic documents and create shortcutsDraft and process Requests for information (RFI)Review and process shop drawings/submittalsParticipate in BIM coordination meetingsAssist in obtaining any LEED documentationSubcontract ManagementAssist project team in reviewing and processing subcontractor change requestsAssist project team in reviewing subcontractor invoicesCost ControlUnderstand change document types and appropriate uses (CCDs, PRs, ASIs, etc.)Assist superintendent in tracking labor costsAssist superintendent with material procurement and cost codingCollect and report cost history data as directedProject MeetingsAttend all project and company safety meetingsAttend foremen's meetings and draft meeting minutesAttend construction coordination meetings and draft meeting minutesParticipate in start-up meetingsParticipate in Project Assessment meetingsPost-ConstructionParticipate in punchlist process and monitor progressAssist superintendent and project manager in preparing final as-built plans and documentationOther ResponsibilitiesParticipate in company business development activities (client functions, design firm open houses, conferences, etc.)Establish relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractorsAttend and participate in project management and other company meetingsAttend any training - personal and/or professional development - that is relevant to the positionAttend company-sponsored eventsSupport and follow standard of workParticipate in Lean events and support of the McGough wayPhysical Requirements:The physical requirements listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.*In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $82,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
