Location:Mount Nittany Medical CenterJob Summary:Geisinger Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease provider to join our expanding in the Western Region at State College, PA. Enjoy a little bit of the arts at the State Theatre or live performances from local to top charting artists at the Bryce Jordan Center.Job Duties:Job ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems, including conditions requiring the selective use of antibiotics.Interview patients to obtain comprehensive information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically indicated.Design and implement treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses; prescribe or administer medications as appropriate.Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.Care for patients with AIDS, unexplained fevers, and those requiring preventive medicine or travel-related health expertise.Work Schedule & EnvironmentPrimarily inpatient care with 1–2 clinical days per week.Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.QualificationsBoard certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease.Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institutionCompletion of residency and fellowship in Infectious DiseaseValid and unrestricted medical licensePrior experience managing complex infectious disease cases is preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPosition Details:Additional InformationAll candidates must be accountable for meeting job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
