We are seeking a mission-focused Information Security Engineer to support a State level cybersecurity program. In this role, you will be part of a team providing cyber assessments based on NIST CSF 2.0 compliance reporting. Job DescriptionConduct cybersecurity assessments to determine an organization's cybersecurity maturityAnalyze and define security requirements for information protectionDefine and develop security policies IAW best practices and NIST guidelinesAnalyze the sensitivity of information and perform vulnerability/risk assessments on the basis of defined sensitivity and information flowParticipate in security assessments of designated organizations Present findings and recommendations to improve the overall security posture of the organizationMinimum RequirementsMinimum five (5) years experience defining security programs or processes for the protection of sensitive or classified information BS Degree in a technical fieldProficient in generally accepted IT standards, statements, and practices, as well as IT security and control practicesKnowledgeable in NIST CSF 2.0 documentation and its applicationMust be able to travel to various locations within the state of Maryland as needed. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors as permitted by law.
