Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAPPLICATION DEADLINE: 12/11/2025Job Summary:The Inpatient Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and execution of the daily operation of the post-surgical floor. The manager is responsible for directing and providing professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Manager provides supervision and guidance to members of the inpatient staff and makes decisions affecting the operations of the department. The Inpatient Manager is responsible for staffing and the scheduling of staff, and the development of policies and procedures. In addition, the Manager will perform other tasks as they are assigned; is a member of various committees as deemed necessary by the Chief Nursing Officer.Essential Job Functions:Attends daily manager huddleSupervises and guides the inpatient multidisciplinary staffAdjusts working hours to meet the manager needs for all shiftsRounds daily on staff and patientsEnsures open communication with providersMentors RN Facilitators and Charges as well as other staffCreates and maintains a supportive working environmentEnsures open communication through monthly staff meetings and written communicationUtilizes evidence-based practice to guide leadership and clinical decisions for the unitDemonstrates ability to work independentlyDevelops quarterly action plans for performance improvement in the departmentDemonstrates knowledge of the Case Management routine and expectationsDemonstrates knowledge and routine for nursing care of the surgical patientHolds the multidisciplinary team accountable to ensure appropriate care of patientsHolds the team accountable to ensure all appropriate audits and reporting are submitted on timeDemonstrates familiarity and comprehension of the Inpatient EMREnsures all staff is educated in new and existing department procedures and systemsMonitors overtime costs, vacancy, and turnover ratesDevelops capital budget for inpatient unitServes on appropriate committees as designated by the Chief Nursing OfficerWorks collaboratively with all leadership team membersWorks collaboratively with the Chief Nursing Officer and Human Resources to hire, evaluate, counsel and discipline staff as appropriatePerforms other duties as assignedQualifications, Knowledge & Ability:Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.Bachelor’s degree in nursing requiredMaster’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferredFour (4) years of nursing experience requiredTwo (2) years of demonstrated nursing leadership experience preferredCurrent and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Wisconsin requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) requiredACLS and PALS certification withing six (6) months of hire requiredBenefits:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account with an employer contributionCompany paid life insuranceFree mealsPTO401(k) retirement plan with 4% company matchTuition reimbursementWellness reimbursement Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
