Job Summary: The Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role includes monitoring equipment, ensuring product quality, following established procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Blue Book with Lead Trainer and/or Prior Shift Inspector
  • If job is in Andonix system, verify and review. Each inspector must review and answer questions each day on Tablet
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators per the Blue Book Instructions.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. We conduct an AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit). Review X # of parts as instructed and verify to the standards. If any fail, then notify Process Techs / Lead Trainer and sort or rework product as instructed.
  • Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify Process Techs / Lead Trainer of any malfunctions.
  • Take care to package products and notice many of the parts made at PPL are delicate and need to have care taken when handling.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually.
  • Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete. Verify that the scale used for the count is correct when the shift starts.
  • Mark or tag identification on parts. Sign off router for operations as they are completed.
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
  • Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Keep your work area clean and organized. We want to clean as we go and make sure our facility is always show ready.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and different shifts, as required.
