This position will also participate substantially in the development of MERITs addition the librarian will work to embody a strong proactive patron-service ethic.This position works in MERIT (Media Education Research and Information Technology) a vibrant service unit with a collaborative team of teaching and learning specialists information technologists and librarians that stewards the School of Educations Information Environment. Through ongoing leadership in the adoption of emerging technologies MERIT empowers members of the School of Education community and its partners to achieve excellence. This position reports to the Public Services Manager. More information about MERITs culture and mission is available here: Job Responsibilities:Develops and curates collectionsServes as a liaison to academic disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections instructional and research support and library servicesMay direct the day-to-day activities of student workersServes on committees to advance librarianship at the campus local and/or state levelsContributes to the development of policies and proceduresProvides specialized services utilizing a high level of expertise on a broad range of disciplines or in a designated discipline areaCultivates and maintains productive relationships with vendors and professional colleaguesAssists with the coordination of day-to-day functions of one or more library operations or servicesDesigns develops and delivers instruction in a variety of formats to faculty staff students and other patronsObtains materials resolves issues and answers questions particularly related to situations that are complex in natureDepartment:School of Education / MERIT (Media Education Research and Information Technology)Compensation:Minimum:$56112Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
