JOB TITLE: Instructional Assistant 1 - Supervision IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building AdministratorFTE: 0.313(2.5 hrs/day)POSITION START DATE: As soon as possible after hireGENERAL DUTIES SUMMARY:Assists or lends support to licensed teachers or under the direction of other staff in a supervisory role. Performs student supervision tasks of limited variety and moderate complexity. These tasks can be readily learned on the job. Positions in this classification may be part-time depending on district need.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential requirements and responsibilities of this position are listed below. Refers repetitive or severe problems to teacher or administratorAdministers first aidHigh school diploma or GED equivalentOne year minimum child-care experience is preferred.Oregon Drivers License or ability to get to and from work in a timely manner and perform the essential functions of the positionMedic First Aid Card (must be certified within the first 60 days of employment)Other certifications/trainings as required to execute the Essential Functions and Duties andResponsibilities of this position (i.e. blood sugar testing bee sting dispensing of prescription medication)Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization existsInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule formAll employees must be able to communicate in an effective manner. Employees with English as a second language must be able to communicate their need for clarification and/or interpretation of directions. Noise level is generally moderate to highTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTThis is a 9 month assignment on theErange of the Classified Job Schedule.Actual days may vary dependent on the number of days students are in school or the size and needs of the classroom population.This job description is not intended to be and should not be construed as an all inclusive list of all the responsibilities skills or working conditions associated with the position. While it is intended to accurately reflect the positions activities and requirements the administration reserves the right to modify add or remove duties and assign duties as necessary that still reflect the essential functions of the department.A new employee shall be allowed up to (4) four years experience on the salary schedule based on actual years of experience on a job of like responsibilites and skills. The highest hourly rate for a new employee would be $20.39 per hour.
