Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:We are seeking an Instructional Assistant who will work along side our current Instructional Leader and Instructional Assistant to supervise the daily activities of the participants of the DREAM program. Our Instructional Assistant will work with individuals with all types of developmental disabilities with the aim of assisting the individual to be successful in the DREAM program. The Instructional Assistant will positively impact student success by playing a key role in ensuring that students receive exceptional care and support through authentic engagement.As a member of the Embracing Abilities Team, you will receive competitive compensation, opportunities to grow within your role and the organization, and a collaborative and supportive tEAm.We are currently seeking Instructional Assistant supports in the following areas:Attend to the daily needs of students on an individual and group basis ages 17-35Understands and adheres to established policies and proceduresProvide opportunities for leisure activities and foster independence in the choice and participation of those activitiesCompletes appropriate visit records by the end of each shiftAdapt and modify activities in efforts to better serve the groupEnsure participant safety in the center and communityProvide ongoing support, guidance, role modeling and supervision to studentsProvide a supportive environment that includes opportunities for students to determine personal preferences for daily schedules and routinesMaintain knowledge of on-going issues and developments as well as informing supervisor of issues and concernsProvide transportation to community events by way of the Embracing Abilities vanImplement a scheduled curriculum with the students to address certain goal areasCharacteristics of the desired applicant:IndependentFriendlyCompassionateEager and Willing to Learn New SkillsTeamwork skillsTimely and Detail OrientedFlexible with Scheduling and AvailabilityCommunication skillsInstructional SkillsAdaptabilityTechnology Use (Google, email, general web usage)Minimum one year of experience working with the IDD population.To learn more about the program please visit our site.
