The Department of Health Sciences in Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time Instructional Assistant Professor of Health Sciences (Anatomy) position with expertise in human anatomy. Full-time instructional faculty in renewable lines at Chapman University play critical roles in the program for teaching pedagogy advising and service; have the opportunity for promotion to associate and full professor; and have full votes on matters of faculty governance at both program and college levels.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will teach core courses in human anatomy lecture and lab neuroanatomy advanced anatomy and applied anatomy with the potential to teach in other areas of health science.The candidate will engage in department and university service (e.g. advising students serving on department or university committees).We welcome faculty who have expertise in teaching anatomy to a cross section of undergraduate students using Anatomage Tables and a variety of anatomy-based software.We also welcome faculty who incorporate AI into teaching and learning. We welcome faculty whose area of expertise adds to or complements current areas of strength in our faculty.Ph.D. in Anatomy or Clinical Anatomy is preferred.A Ph.D. or clinical degree in a complementary field such as Human Physiology Applied Physiology Exercise Physiology or Physical Therapy will be considered.PreferredEvidence of past or potential excellence in teaching anatomy courses to undergraduate students.Experience mentoring studentsStrong organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
