Instructional Designer I-College of NursingJob No: 537446Work Type: Full TimeLocation: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)Categories: Education/Training/Instructional Design, Office/Administrative/Fiscal SupportDepartment: 31010150 - NR-EXECUTIVE ASO DEANJob Description Classification Title: Instructional Designer IClassification Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.Job Description: The Educational Technology Specialist serves as the primary support person for educational technologies used in the College of Nursing (CON), with a focus on daily operational support, issue resolution, and exam administration. This position ensures reliable use of learning technologies for teaching, learning, and assessment by providing technical support, routine maintenance of online courses, and user training. The role also supports the exam process, including exam software management and coordination of proctoring. The Specialist collaborates with faculty, students, and staff to maintain high-quality, functional course shells each semester and ensures educational technologies are integrated and used effectively and securely across CON programsExpected Salary: 55,000-65,000Required Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.Preferred: Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), exam platforms (e.g., ExamSoft), and video or collaboration tools. Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate solutions to non-technical users. Exceptional attention to detail, especially in reviewing course materials and exam settings. Experience with course QA processes such as link checking, accessibility checks, and content migration. Familiarity with screen recording and lecture capture platforms (e.g., Panopto, Kaltura). Basic understanding of instructional design principles and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, UDL).
