Job DescriptionJob DescriptionViterbo University is accepting applications for a forward-thinking Instructional Support/Audio Visual Technologist to join our dynamic Information and Instructional Technology team. This full-time, exempt position plays a critical role in transforming the teaching and learning experience through innovative use of educational and audio-visual technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and staff to design, implement, and support technology solutions that enhance classroom instruction, online learning, and campus-wide engagement. From maintaining A/V systems to supporting the University's learning management platform, this position combines technical expertise with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and exceptional service in support of academic excellence.The primary role of the Instructional Support/Audio Visual Technologist is to collaborate with faculty to effectively integrate use of technology, enhancing teaching and learning in courses/classrooms.Bridges work of the library, and instructional design working on and recommending technology-based solutions that improve ongoing University operations and facilitate completion of projects.Expertise spans many areas of instructional technology support including a high degree of knowledge in the areas of Learning Management System, web conferencing, interactive applications, video production, and Microsoft Office applications.Support and install audio visual spaces, classrooms/conferencing, for use by university community.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Research, installation, setup, maintenance, firmware updates and facilitate effective use of audio-visual equipmentWork in scheduling system and with registrar & scheduling administrator to schedule classrooms for maintenance.Provide technical support to campus community regarding instructional technology and audio-visual equipmentAssist faculty, staff and students with using classroom hardware and softwareSupport effective use & trouble ticket resolution of the learning management systemIn coordination with the Application Administrator, maintain and update the university's learning management system and educational technology platformsMonitoring the LMS system and report problems to the hostEnhance teaching and learning through the identification, evaluation, adoption, and integration of effective educational technology innovations into the curriculum/classroom.Write and develop training materials to accommodate self-learners and provide resources for facultyLearning experience design and development to support new initiativesConduct seminars and workshops on various educational technology-related topicsAssist management of course evaluation processGenerate activity reports as well as coordinates and documents projectsTroubleshoot and maintain instructional technology systems and peripheralsPro-actively communicate challenges, successes, and failures with leadershipStay current with emerging trends and best practices in educational and audio-visual technologyWillingness to undertake additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Director of IIT as the role evolves over time to meet the department's changing needs.General Requirements/Qualifications:A bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience supporting effective use of technology or equivalent experience is required.Demonstrate a high level of people skills in working with and providing support for faculty, staff, and students.Working knowledge of A/V concepts and ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills. Experience with technical writing and project management is preferred.Expertise in learning management systems, web authoring, or similar tools with the ability to create online educational materials is preferredExpertise in Extron and audio-visual installation, support and troubleshooting is preferredAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyWork hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, weekendsTo Apply: Please complete the online employment application form and upload a letter of interest, CV/resume, and three professional references.About the University: Viterbo University is a Catholic, Franciscan, liberal arts institution.
