Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 26/27 - 27/28.pdf(Download PDF reader)Position SummaryMCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesIncluding but are not limited to: Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessaryMaintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related dataUse educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment resultsMaintain currency in professional field Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellenceRequired QualificationsA master's degree in history or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in History.Demonstrated teaching experience is preferredCommitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgroundsStrong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Equal Employment OpportunityMcHenry County College declares and reaffirms a policy of equal opportunity and non-discrimination.
